So what is a predictive dialer, anyway? Predictive dialers are widely used in call centers.” Another explanation (via voip-info.org) is that it’s a system of outbound call processing designed to handle high usage levels in a cost-effective way for the business or contact center. What the dialer essentially does is call a list of telephone numbers, and it does the screening of irrelevant calls (ex. voice answering machines, busy signals, etc.), and then connects one of the available agents with the customer on the line.
